It seems that rumours of a new MIX Flip release were correct after all. To recap, Digital Chat Station alleged at the start of the month that the MIX Flip 2 would be joining the Pad 7S Pro, the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and a Redmi gaming tablet during a packed summer release schedule.
Since then, Xiaomi has begun promoting all but the MIX Flip 2 on Chinese social media. While a release date escapes all of these teasers, it is already apparent that the Pad 7S Pro, Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and Redmi K Pad will see the light of day later this month. Now, the MIX Flip 2 can be added to that list, although one would not necessarily know by looking at Xiaomi's social media channels.
Instead, the likes of Xiaomi Adictos have discovered a page on Xiaomi's Chinese page in which it has included a MIX Flip 2 teaser. For the time being, Xiaomi has only provided a glimpse of the device's box, which mirror equivalents for the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and Redmi K Pad. On top of that, Xiaomi has hinted that the MIX Flip 2 will be available later this month too.
At this stage, it is unclear how Xiaomi will differentiate the MIX Flip 2 from its predecessor, given that the former will retain some aspects of Leica camera technology. The fact that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset was included inside last year's model suggests that the MIX Flip 2 could rival the Razr 60 Ultra (curr. $899.99 on Amazon) by using Qualcomm's newer Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Presumably, Xiaomi will reveal more details about the MIX Flip 2 in the next few days.
