The iPhone 17 series is still months away from launch but there are already rumors floating around about the iPhone 18 series. Now, new info has surfaced about what the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max might look like.
Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, has revealed that Apple is testing under-display Face ID for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones which are due to arrive in 2026. The source also revealed that the phone will have a single HIAA (hole in active matrix) hole.
A related report by The Information was even more specific by saying the single hole will be at the top left corner of the screen — a design trend that was seen on Android phones a few years ago, but has now been dropped in favor of a centered hole.
On the other hand, the non-pro models which include the iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18 Air will have a regular 2+1 punch hole (Dynamic Island) like the iPhone 16 according to Digital Chat Station. This shouldn't be surprising as this wouldn't be the first time the pro and non-pro models are visually different on the front.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to know that the yet-to-be-released iPhone 17 Air has a successor in development.
