JBL has announced the Soundgear Clips as one of two pairs of new open ear TWS earbuds. The other is the Sense Pro which you can read about here. Both pairs of earbuds have different designs but also share many similar features. However, there are enough differences that set them apart, too.
The Soundgear Clips have a design similar to that of the Moto Buds Loop (available on Amazon for $299.99) with their hook design. As expected, they don't cover the ear canals, allowing users to remain aware of their environment. JBL says the earbuds feature its proprietary JBL OpenSound Technology for minimal sound leakage, and SonicArc design which ensures that the user is the only person who can hear what is playing from the earbuds. The design is also said to provide extra bass performance.
The Soundgear Clips are reportedly made from a soft, flexible, and lightweight material that can be worn for a long stretch without discomfort. Each earbud has an 11mm dynamic driver with JBL's Adaptive Bass Boost algorithm. There are also two beamforming microphones on each one along with an AI algorithm for noise reduction.
Available in Blue Ghost, Black Ghost, White Ghost, Purple Ghost, and Copper Ghost, all of which are translucent; the Soundgear Clips have Bluetooth Multipoint, support for Google Fast Pair, and are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. JBL says the earbuds will provide up to 8 hours of listening time and a total of 32 hours of playtime with the charging case. Scheduled to be released in October, the Soundgear Clips will cost €129.99 in Europe and £119.99 in the UK.
