Huawei Band 7 gains two updates with new communication and health features
Huawei has released two updates for the global version of the Band 7. First reported by Huawei Ailesi, the updates are HarmonyOS 2.0.0.26 and HarmonyOS 2.0.0.32. While the updates have arrived in Europe and Turkey, among others, HarmonyOS 2.0.0.26 reached Huawei's home market in June.
As with many of its fitness trackers and wearables, Huawei tweaks its updates to suit Chinese and global audiences. Hence, the WeChat payment support that the company included in the Chinese version of HarmonyOS 2.0.0.26 is missing from the corresponding global edition. Still, the update is approximately an 11 MB download.
According to the screenshots provided by Huawei Ailesi, HarmonyOS 2.0.0.26 adds the option of sending short quick replies to messages directly from the Band 7 itself, albeit only while paired to a device running Android or HarmonyOS. Additionally, Huawei has improved some icons and UI elements, as well as system stability in unspecified areas.
Similarly, HarmonyOS 2.0.0.32 is also roughly an 11 MB file. In comparison, this newer update enables Huawei's wellness functionality, which allows you to track Clover quests and, theoretically, develop healthier lifestyle habits. Huawei distributes both updates via its Health app, although it is unclear whether people can skip HarmonyOS 2.0.0.26 and install HarmonyOS 2.0.0.32 directly.
