The Honor GT Pro is Honor's latest attempt at cracking the growing gaming smartphone market. While the Honor GT relied on last-generation hardware, the Honor GT Pro will combine the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite with a 7,200 mAh battery and a 144 Hz AMOLED display.

Honor has stepped up its teaser campaign for its next gaming smartphone. Launching tomorrow alongside the Pad GT, the GT Pro will be Honor's second gaming smartphone release of the week after the X60 GT's arrival earlier today.

Having already showcased the handset's design last week, Honor has now pivoted to revealing device specifications before tomorrow's launch event. As the images below show, Honor plans to replace its existing GT smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered option that packs a mammoth 7,200 mah battery to rival the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $636 on Amazon) Incidentally, this large battery capacity will be supported by 90 W wired charging; it looks like the GT Pro will miss out on wireless charging technology, though.

Nonetheless, Honor has installed a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 144 Hz refresh and 2,700 Hz touch sampling rates at its disposal. The large display boasts 6,000 mAh peak brightness too, like many recent flagship smartphones. Moreover, the GT Pro features a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, twin 50 MP rear-facing cameras and IP69 certification. As it stands, it is unclear whether Honor plans to offer its latest gaming smartphone globally.
