The iSteady M6 is the latest generation of motorized gimbals from Hohem, and as such is touted as the most advanced and premium iteration of its series thus far. To this end, the OEM sells it as a bundle with a magnetic module to provide both an RGB fill light and "AI auto-tracking" rated to work in all the apps one might want. It also has the expansion screws to secure more accessories, and is rated to handle that weight as well as that of a smartphone.

Now that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is here to challenge the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the Hohem iSteady M6 is backed to turn them and devices like them into all-in-one "professional" mobile shooting rigs. The new gimbal offers the option of a fill light to go with the automatic tracking and support it may lend to the user's handheld videography ambitions.

The new M6 rated for improved motorized performance, with a "3-axis" build and "iSteady 7.0 anti-shake system" Accordingly, Hohem backs it to perform all the latest tricks, such as the "unrestrained" 360 panning necessary for those potentially cinematic 'infinite spin' shots.

Furthermore, clicking its "Magnetic Tracking" module into place is touted to unlock the full possibilities of the gimbal's in-built AI, rated to keep faces, action or people in a frame to a "sensitive and swift" degree. This auto-tracking is also rated as compatible with leading apps, TikTok and Instagram included. The same component can support the M6's fill lighting, in either CCT cool/warm or RGB ambient modes.

Therefore, the Hohem iSteady M6 is mainly pitched at smartphone use - however, its estimated maximum payload of 400 grams (g) might enable it to carry a small DSLR or similar camera. Then again, that might negate the option of attaching more accessories (extra lights included) via 1 or more of the M6's 4 1/4"-20 UNC screw ports.

The latest Hohem gimbal also offers a 0.91-inch OLED display above the grip and an "improved" 18-hour battery life, replenished via USB type-C. The iSteady M6 sells with its magnetic module for US$258.18 (or US$218.18 with the code HOHEMNEW for a limited time) via its first-party store - however, the same kit also goes for US$209 on Amazon right now.
