Garmin updates recent smartwatch features in new beta release

The Garmin Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches are receiving a new beta update. Beta version 15.00 arrives a month after the conclusion of the 14.xx testing cycle. This previous stable update brought support for Garmin Golf app subscription features, as well as a new breathing variations tool.

In Beta version 15.00, Garmin says that it has updated the breathing variations feature, which tracks changes in your breathing while you sleep. The release notes also state that the recently added device passcode tool has also been improved. In both cases, the company does not explain where Venu 3 and vivoactive 5 users will benefit from these tweaks.

The change log for beta version 15.00 also notes that Garmin has fixed a problem related to downloaded golf courses. Plus, a bug linked to the audio accompanying some breathwork activities has been resolved, though this only affects users of the Venu 3 and Venu 3s smartwatches (curr. from $426.94 at Amazon).

In a post in the Garmin forum, a team member advises users that they can download the beta version 15.00 update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. It is also worth noting that, on the Venu 3 smartwatch, the ECG app is disabled with this update, as is usual early in the beta testing cycle.
