Garmin is rolling out software version 22.22 for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches. This is the first stable update from the 22.xx beta testing cycle, which appears to have concluded with version 22.21.
An amendment not shown in the earlier beta change logs is support for the new HRM 200 accessory, allowing you to pair the wearable for synced data. Plus, these Forerunner smartwatches have gained the Body Battery TrueUp tool, enhancing the accuracy of this metric for users with multiple devices by syncing the relevant data points.
Other changes listed in beta release notes include the addition of strength workouts to Garmin Run Coach and Garmin Cycling Coach training plans, as well as refreshes to the training readiness score throughout the day. Plus, there is a new passcode tool for additional security, and support for the latest Connect IQ watch faces and apps like ComingUp. The full list of changes, which also includes a range of bug fixes, can be found below.
According to Garmin, software version 22.22 is now available for at least 50% of users of the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 955 smartwatches (curr. $399.30 at Amazon). This update can be manually downloaded on the watch by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
