Reviews for the Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104

80% Review: Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 computer
Source: Gadgetguy English Archive.org version
The Dell Inspiron 13 5000 is a fine portable computer with good performance and a very good screen. It’s light enough not to be burdensome when travelling and, with the ability to fold back the screen and use it in tablet mode, you might be able to get away with using it that way even during takeoff and landing.

Review: Dell Inspiron 13 5000

Putting the non-working trackpad to one side, the Inspiron 13 5000 is a good value laptop for someone on a budget. We recommend it for high school or university students. You get a lot of computer for your money, performance is good and the 2-in–1 versatility can be handy at times. Just remind yourself it’s not a lightweight as a detachable.

Model: The convertible market has been growing bigger due to the decrease in PC sales and the huge demand for ultra portable devices. The Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104 is a convertible laptop ideal for productivity on the go. The Inspiron series is known to be very affordable for entry-level users and usually features plastic finishing. However, the build of the Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104 feels more solid compared to other laptops of the Inspiron series. The convertible laptop has an elegant but robust appearance with a silver aluminium finish, which is an improvement. The convertible laptop measures at 324 x 19 x 224 mm and weighs at 1.63 kg. As for hardware specification, the Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104 features an Intel Core i5 (6th generation) processor, 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM, an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 graphic processor and a 256 GB SSD. The hardware specification for this laptop is mid-range with decent performance ideal for home and office users. The display of the laptop is a 13.3-inch LED backlit IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is a glossy Truelife display and supports up to 10-finger detection. The included touch pen can be also used to navigate around the screen. Wide viewing angles make for same picture quality from almost any angle. While it does not feature a very high-resolution display such as 3K or 4K displays, the Full HD display makes a longer battery life possible. Besides, a Full-HD display is good enough for a 13 inch screen.

The keyboard and touchpad of the laptop are very flat and slim. The backlit keyboard has wide key spacing to type comfortably. However, the short drop on the keys minimise the input feedback which is a disadvantage while typing. The touchpad also detects inputs at the edges, which is good for a convertible touchpad. The Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104 runs on Windows 10 Home edition 64 bit, which comes with Microsoft Office 2013 30 days trial and McAfee Antivirus 30 days trial. It has a 3-cell 43 Wh lithium-ion battery capable of delivering up to 6 hours of battery life. In addition, an audio system with two speakers and HD webcam is built into the laptop for entertainment and video telephony. As for connectivity, it has Wireless LAN 802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.0. For input/output ports, it has USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports and a 2-in-1 card reader. The Dell Inspiron 13-5368-1104 is a perfect convertible laptop for users who require the portability of a laptop for work and the media advantages of a 2-in-1 device at a reasonable price. Its main rival is the Asus UX360, but the Inspiron 13 is still better due to its better build quality.

Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

6200U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

For gaming enthusiasts, Dell's Alienware brand is for gaming notebooks.

80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
