The Casio G-Shock G-Lide GLXS5610-2 and GLXS5610-4 watches are now available in the US. These two models were designed with pro-surfer Bettylou Sakura Johnson in bright colors inspired by Hawaiian flowers. Images of these watches leaked earlier in May alongside several rumored features.
The product page for the new GLXS5610, or GLX-S5610, watches confirms that they will offer several surfing-related features. These include tide graphs and moon data, and the model is water resistant to 200m. Other tools include a 1/100 second stopwatch, three alarms, hourly time signals and a countdown timer with a 24-hour range.
The GLXS5600 series watches support world time, with 48 cities on offer. A white LED backlight helps you to read the display in low lighting, with an adjustable illumination length. The GLXS5610-2 is blue, while the GLXS5610-4 is pink, and both have resin and bio-resin components. They measure 45.7 x 40.5 x 11.9 mm (~1.8 x 1.6 x 0.5 inches) and weigh 41 g (~0.09 lbs). Plus, the replaceable CR1616 is said to provide around three years of battery life.
You can now buy the Casio G-Shock G-Lide GLXS5610-2 and GLXS5610-4 watches at the brand’s online store for $99. It is unclear whether or when these products could launch in other markets like Europe.
