Acer Nitro V 16 debuts as the first Ryzen 8040 series gaming laptop
Acer dropped key details of its upcoming gaming laptop. Named the Acer Nitro V 16, the system will be available with up to Ryzen 7 8845HS processor based on the Zen 4 architecture. You can also spec the laptop with up to Nvidia RTX 4060, making the system capable of easily handling most of the resource-intensive applications.
In addition, the Acer Nitro V 16 offers two display options featuring WUXGA and WQXGA resolutions. Both the display options deliver 165 Hz refresh rate and response times as low as 3 ms. Acer says that the panels offer “fluid visuals with minimal ghosting and screen tearing.”
Other highlights of the Nitro V 16 include up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD (Samsung 980 PRO curr. $129.99 on Amazon). Acer says that the new cooling system boasts a pair of high-powered fans, which makes the system “well-equipped to take on heavy gameplay.”
The I/O of the Acer Nitro V 16 includes two USB 3, one USB 4 Type-C, a microSD card reader, and an HDMI port. For smooth and reliable wireless connectivity, it has WiFi 6E compatibility. The laptop will be landing on the shelves in March 2024 with a starting price of $999.
