IFA 2024 | Acer introduces Nitro V 14 with Ryzen 8040 APUs, RTX 4050, and MUX switch
Acer is introducing a Nitro V 14 variant this year at IFA 2024. The Nitro V 14 leverages AMD Ryzen 8040 series APUs with Ryzen AI while offering GPU choices up to the RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. The laptop also offers a MUX switch and can be configured with up to a 2.5K 120 Hz IPS panel.
Acer introduced the Nitro V 16 with AMD Ryzen 8040 APUs last year and is now bringing the same AMD Zen 4 goodness to the Nitro V 14 as well at IFA 2024.
All GPU options offer MUX switching to enable or disable the iGPU for a slight performance push in gaming. Additionally, buyers can configure the Nitro V 14 with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to a 2 TB NVMe SSD.
Acer offers two display options for the Nitro V 14: a 14.5-inch 2560 x 1600 16:10 120 Hz IPS panel with 300 nits brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, and Acer ComfyView, and a 14.5-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS panel with 350 nits brightness, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB.
Port selection includes 1x USB4 Type-C 40 Gbps that supports DisplayPort and charging, 2x USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 1 and Gen 2 each, HDMI 2.1-out, and a microSD card reader. Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 takes care of the networking.
Powering these innards is a 4-cell 57 Whr Li-ion battery for the 2.5K panel, which Acer rates to offer six hours of video playback run time.
The Acer Nitro V 14 will be available North America and the EMEA in September at prices starting from US$1,099.99 and €1,199.
