£260 for a wearable helmet, but no PC disc? New game edition prices reportedly leak

What exactly makes a game edition physical when its most expensive package could cost £260 but contain no PC game disc?
New details about the retail editions of Metro 2039 suggest that collectors may face precisely that question. The upcoming shooter from 4A Games reportedly has three editions planned, with prices ranging from £59.99 to £259.99.
According to billbil-kun at Dealabs, pre-orders could open on 13 October, or by 14 October at the latest. The reported prices and complete edition contents have not been officially confirmed.
What does the £259.99 edition actually include?
The Day One Edition reportedly costs £59.99 (€69.99), including the base game and pre-order downloadable content.
The £94.99 (€109.99) Deluxe Edition adds a SteelBook, hardcover artbook, digital artbook, digital soundtrack and story expansion, all presented in a cardboard box.
According to the report, the £259.99 (€299.99) Collector's Edition would include the Deluxe contents alongside a wearable replica of the Stranger's Spartan helmet.
That helmet is already official. Deep Silver unveiled it in August, confirming that it was recreated from the protagonist's in-game 3D model. Its design includes a hinged visor, integrated gas-mask elements and battle damage.
There is an important distinction between platforms. According to Dealabs, the console Day One and Deluxe editions include game discs, although an internet download will still be required.
PC editions, meanwhile, reportedly contain a download code instead of a disc. The platform on which that code can be redeemed has not yet been specified.
For PC collectors, that creates an unusual contrast: the most expensive edition may include an elaborate physical replica, but no physical game disc.
Metro 2039 is scheduled for release on 4 February 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
