First unveiled at CES earlier this year, LG has finally released its new 27-inch UltraGear 4K gaming monitor. The new monitor features a fast 1ms response rate which LG claims is a world-first for a 4K monitor.

LG revealed several new monitors at CES earlier this year, in what proved to be the first and only live electronics showcase before COVID-19 hit. Since then, it has steadily rolled them out and the latest to reach the market is the 27-inch UltraGear 27GN950 model. It is the first 4K IPS LCD gaming monitor in the world, LG claims, to feature a 1 millisecond response rate.

The 27-inch UltraGear also features a 144 Hz refresh rate, which is now considered the minimum standard for a monitor to wear the ‘gaming’ moniker. Other key features include support for 98 percent of the P3 color gamut which means it can reproduce 1.07 billion colors. Brightness is rated at 400 nits (typical) while it also Nvidia G-Sync compatible which will reduce screen tearing by syncing with your Nvidia GPU frame rates.

As you might expect for a 4K gaming monitor with these sorts of specs, it is going to cost you – around US$800 to be exact. It is available for purchase now in markets across Europe, North America and Asia.
