Black Shark 5 with Snapdragon 888+ processor may already be in the works
The Black Shark 5 phone has been spotted in certification documents, indicating that an upcoming release could be on the cards for the latest gaming smartphone from Black Shark, a company that frequently works alongside Xiaomi with its devices. However, the Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro were only released back in March, so it’s surprising to see signs of a Black Shark 5 already.
Noted tipster Digital Chat Station pinpointed a record for the Black Shark 5 along with the model number KTUS-A0. On top of actually discovering the Black Shark 5 and sharing the information, the same source also revealed that a Snapdragon 888+ would be involved along with 100 W wired charging. However, as the Black Shark 4 supports 120 W fast charging, it’s likely the same will be available for the Black Shark 5, if not more.
It might be just an early filing for the Black Shark 5, with the device making an official appearance in 2022, or a new phone but with only slight changes (the Black Shark 4 Pro operates with an SD888 while the regular Black Shark 4 utilizes an SD870). Xiaomi Black Shark smartphones have frequently been praised for their impressive performance and high refresh rate displays, which are ideal for their target market of mobile gaming enthusiasts.
