ZTE has just quietly unveiled its new budget-centric smartphone, the ZTE T230. The device, spotted on the company’s Australian website, features very basic specifications at a very reasonable price of $88.
The ZTE T230 comes with a 4-inch WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) TFT display and a Cortex-A7 based, quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor. The SoC is clocked at 1.3 GHz and includes the Mali-400 MP2 GPU.
Apart from that, the smartphone features 512 MB of operating memory and only 4 GB of internal storage space (largely taken by the Android 4.4 operating system). Fortunately, there’s a micro-SD card reader on-board, which allows user date to be stored on memory cards up to 32 GB of capacity.
The main camera uses a 5 MP sensor while the front one only offers VGA (640 x 480) resolution. Lack of LTE connectivity is not very surprising – connectivity options include 3G, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. There’s also a GPS/A-GPS module under the hood. The 1400 mAh battery is replaceable.
