For some reason, Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing that some refer to as one of the worst games ever made, is back on Steam.
Publisher Margarite Entertainment promises "brake-jamming, CB-talking, convoy-rolling action across America!" with four unique routes (Desert, Forest, Plains, and Cities) and "various maps of highways and byways across America" as a bonus.
The game has been mocked for its 'gameplay' since launch. The AI is non-existent, meaning your competitors never leave the starting line. There is no time limit, so you can complete the race at your leisure, and there is no collision detection, which means you can phase through objects.
The most infamous bug, however, is that the game allows you to accelerate indefinitely in reverse, meaning you can hit ridiculous speeds of up to 2 million miles per hour. What makes this even funnier is when you release the key, you come to an instant halt. Hills and other obstacles have zero influence on gravity or acceleration and can be descended or ascended with zero penalty to momentum or speed.
The game description advertises five tracks, but selecting the fourth causes it to crash. You can clip through every surface in the game and travel in the void. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing was immortalized in internet history with the classic video review from Gamespot that has become meme-worthy in its own right.
