Xiaomi Redmi 11A: New budget smartphones to launch globally with 50 MP camera
A few weeks have passed since TENAA published details about the Redmi 11A, another upcoming budget Xiaomi smartphone. With the smartphone also appearing on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), it seemed that Xiaomi had planned an international release, but not necessarily a global one. However, a new IMDA database listing confirms that there will be a global model too, with the trio certified as follows:
- Global - 22120RN86G
- China - 22120RN86C
- India - 22120RN86I
In short, these model numbers underline that Xiaomi has prepared three variants of the same core smartphone. Although the IMDA does not confirm where Xiaomi plans to sell the global version of the Redmi 11A, its predecessor was available in multiple markets and not just in Singapore. Hence, it seems likely that Xiaomi will repeat this release strategy with the newer model.
Based on previous certification documents, all Redmi 11A variants will launch with a 6.7-inch IPS display, albeit only a 720p one (1,650 x 720). Additionally, the smartphone will offer up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, plus a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10 W fast charging. A 50 MP primary camera should also be onboard, as should a 5 MP front-facing camera. Unfortunately, the SoC powering the Redmi 11A remains a mystery beyond that its CPU cores will operate at up to 2 GHz.
