The latest Windows 10 "Redstone 4" test build is numbered 17046 and comes with a lot of tweaks and fixes, including faster access to advanced UWP app options, improved emoji support, and the ability to fill in and save data to use in forms when using Microsoft Edge.

Since Microsoft has not come up with an official name yet, Windows 10's next major update is currently known as Redstone 4 and, although it should arrive next spring, the Redmond giant is already issuing regular updates for its test builds. The last one arrived on November 22 and includes a rich set of minor fixes and tweaks, as well as a few new features.

Known as Windows 10 Insider Build 17046, this new Redstone 4 test build comes with a set of new features for Microsoft Edge, mainly text spacing adjustment in Reading View and the ability to save and automatically fill frequently used information in addresses and related forms. Even better, the data saved for this purpose can be roamed between more Windows 10 devices. Form entries can be added and removed manually as needed by going to the Advanced Settings area.

Emoji data across all languages has been carefully analyzed, leading to the introduction of emoji support for a number of languages that did not have it before. All in all, Microsoft performed changes to the emoji data for no less than 150 languages, including English, Turkish, French, Hebrew, Russian, and so on. The Emoji Panel can also be used to insert more than one emoji at once, but Microsoft still did not make it universally available. As a consequence, the Emoji Panel can only be used when the EN-US keyboard is active.

Windows 10 Insider Build 17046 brings faster access to advanced UWP app options from Start instead of having to browse through multiple levels in the Settings area.

At the end of the official blog post about the Windows 10 Insider Build 17046, Microsoft also revealed that Office Insiders will get new features in Insider Preview builds in the near future as well. The details have not been unveiled yet, so the best way to stay updated would be to become an Office Insider. Once enrolled in the program, you can provide the feedback needed to help Microsoft improve its future Office products.
