Viwoods has made the AiPaper Reader C available to purchase, and the color E Ink display is one of the major highlights of the eReader. It comes with a 6.13-inch three-color Kaleido 3 screen with a resolution of 150 PPI. There are dual front lights with adjustable brightness and temperature, and users have access to four reading modes.
Among the four is Fast Mode, which ensures smooth page turns, while the Best Display Mode is said to deliver the highest clarity. Design-wise, the device is touted to be very pocket-friendly. As the company claims, the phone-like eReader is 6.7 mm thick and weighs 140 grams.
Under the hood, the AiPaper Reader C sports an unspecified eight-core CPU that's paired with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Given that it runs on Android 16, users will have the freedom to get their eBooks from their preferred source, and it also has support for multiple formats.
Another notable aspect of this eReader is data-only SIM support. While this means that the device can't make phone calls, it offers 4G LTE connectivity, which can be handy in some instances. Like other readers, there's support for Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4 GHz WiFi.
As the name suggests, there are some AI features as well. Viwoods highlights the dedicated AI key, which offers screenshot analysis functionality, access to an AI assistant, and summaries. However, it's unclear whether these are on-device AI features or cloud-based.
Price-wise, the phone-shaped Android eReader costs $349.99. There's only one color option available, and it's also worth noting that the AiPaper Reader C doesn't ship with a charging adapter (Ugreen Nexode 65 W charger curr. $29.99 on Amazon).
