Vivo announces launch date of V70 Elite with 50 MP Zeiss telephoto camera and 6,500 mAh battery

Following rumors in mid-January about many supposed details of the Vivo V70 Elite, Vivo has now confirmed a lot of these in a press release. According to the release, the Vivo V70 series will be officially unveiled on February 19, with both smartphones initially launching in India.
Since the Vivo V50 5G is already available in Europe, the chances for a European launch seem good. The design of the Vivo V70 series follows current trends, as the Vivo V70 also features a flat metal frame with strongly rounded corners, a monochrome back with a nearly square camera module, and a flat display with narrow bezels and a central punch-hole.
According to Vivo, the V70 series is set to impress with its fast Qualcomm processors and high-quality cameras featuring a Sony sensor and Zeiss lens. Both the Vivo V70 and the Vivo V70 Elite sport a 50 MP telephoto camera based on a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor. This camera provides 3x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom.
The 50 MP main camera is based on the 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX766 sensor. The Vivo V70 (Elite) can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. The top-of-the-line model is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is invisibly integrated into the display. Rumours suggest that both the Vivo V70 and the Vivo V70 Elite have a 6,500 mAh battery with 90 watt fast charging and waterproof housing.
