Casio has announced that the upgraded G-Shock GX-56UBB-1 watch is on the way to Europe. Already available in another market, this model has a newer module and an LED backlight. Other features include support for world time, multiple daily alarms and Tough Solar charging.

The Casio G-Shock GX-56UBB-1 watch is coming to Europe. This upgraded model was launched in Japan earlier in 2026. It builds on the original GX-56BB-1, which was released in July 2016.

Now, Casio has listed the G-Shock GX-56UBB-1 watch at its online stores in countries like the Netherlands, France and Germany. In this market, it will have an RRP of €159.00, the same price as the older GX-56BB-1. The Casio website suggests that this new watch is “coming soon”, with prospective customers invited to join a mailing list to receive a stock notification via email.

Casio’s G-Shock GX-56UBB-1 is a matte black watch with a chunky resin bezel and casing, and a matching strap. It is marketed as both shock and mud resistance, and is waterproof to 20 bar. This digital model offers 31 time zones and tools like a stopwatch, hourly time signals, a timer and five daily alarms. It also supports Tough Solar charging, with the remaining battery level viewable on the screen.

Compared to its predecessor, the GX-56BB-1, the GX-56UBB-1 has a new, more efficient module, with the electroluminescent (EL) backlight replaced by an LED equivalent. The latter makes it easy to read the dark background display in low lighting. It is unclear whether or when the Casio G-Shock GX-56UBB-1 could be released in the US.
