Upgraded BYD Atto 3 Evo electric SUV gets longer range and 800-volt architecture

The BYD Atto 3 Evo is a major upgrade of the 2023 model. Despite identical dimensions, some technical specifications have been improved. Instead of FWD, the EV is now offered with RWD or AWD, while its range increases thanks to higher battery capacity, and charging is also noticeably faster due to the 800V architecture.
Charging from 10 to 80% in 25 minutes
BYD claims that a standard charge from 10 to 80 percent takes just 25 minutes. The reason is the 800-volt architecture, which supports a higher charging rate of up to 220 kW. By comparison, the 2023 BYD Atto 3 was limited to 88 kW, which is significantly slower.
BYD continues to use an LFP battery in the Atto 3 Evo instead of an NMC pack. Nevertheless, capacity increases to 74.8 kWh from 60 kWh on the 2023 version. BYD utilizes the so-called Cell-to-Body technology.
The electric SUV is available with two powertrains. The base "Design" model with RWD has 230 kW and 280 lb-ft of torque. There is also an AWD version called "Excellence". This model variant of the BYD Atto 3 Evo combines a rear and front motor for a total of 330 kW and 413 lb-ft of torque.
Price and availability
The base trim of the BYD Atto 3 Evo starts at €44,990 in Europe, while the AWD "Excellence" trim costs €50,990. Both versions of the all-electric compact SUV are already available for order, and first deliveries are expected this spring.
