Twitch is down for thousands of users as streams stop working

Netflix handled its Grand GTA 6 reveal surprisingly well, with the platform suffering from minimal glitches at a time when millions were hammering the service. The platform that did take a beating, however, appears to be popular streaming site Twitch.tv.

Internet murmurs say everyone streaming the GTA 6 extended view is what may have bought the platform to its knees. As plausible as it sounds, there is no evidence to verify that statement. At the time of writing, the service appears to be down for several users, with Downdetector.com confirming a spike in users reporting disrupted functionality. The scope of the outage is hard to tell, though, because I was able to view a livestream just fine until now, after which things began to go downhill.

Interestingly, Twitch's internal diagnostic page confirms the outage, but the official Twitch X handle does not. No one has mentioned an outage anywhere, but one should hopefully show up soon.
