Series:
The main standout feature of this Toshiba offering is the large 17.3 inch screen, a real treat for those who like big and dramatic displays. The enormous screen on this laptop purportedly replaces the need for a conventional desktop, and offers all the usual features a PC offers. Users can choose between a myriad of Intel processor (up to i7) or multi core AMD A-Series processors as hardware.
This will undoubtedly be sufficient to store files, data and even entertainment like games, music and movies. Speaking of which, the laptop comes equipped with a DVD player, which can optionally be upgraded to a Blu-ray player. There are also chambered speakers powered by DTS. As usual, there are USB 3 and HDMI ports for all your data transfer needs. Design wise, it comes in a glossy metallic color, suitable for both business and pleasure. Rounded corners embellished in silver give it an added touch of class.
A USB sleep and charge port allows users to charge any external electrical gadget via a USB cable even when the laptop is switched off. This general purpose laptop is worth its mid-range price as it can cater to virtually any need.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GT 700M series. Based on the Kepler architecture and manufactured by TSMC in a 28nm process.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4700MQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.4 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.8 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate or technology group. The company was established in 1939 and in 1978 Toshiba became the official company name. The company's products and services include power, industrial and social infrastructure systems, elevators and escalators, electronic components, semiconductors, hard drives, printers, batteries, lighting, logistics and information technology. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.
40%: This rating is bad and very rare. There are only a few models that are rated so poorly. If the source is reputable, then a purchase is probably not advisable.
