This highly popular online co-op shooter has surprisingly joined PS Plus

Sony and PlayStation have been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons for the past several weeks. This time, however, it brings some positive news for PS5 owners. A highly popular online co-op game has been added to the PlayStation Plus game catalog, meaning those with eligible subscriptions can play the game for free.

The game in question is Helldivers 2, and it first released for the PS5 and PC in 2024. Since then, it has amassed a lot of positive reviews, with the Steam peak player count hitting 458,000. While the active player base has dropped since launch, there are still about 120,000+ players enjoying the co-op shooter. As expected, reported PS5 numbers aren’t as healthy, but it supports crossplay across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.

Starting today, Helldivers 2 will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members. The former costs $17 per month while the latter costs $20 per month.

At the same time, a new DLC has also been announced for Helldivers 2. Devoid of Liberty will bring new missions and new enemies such as ‘The Wretch’ and ‘The Crusher.’ Furthermore, Helldivers 2 players who eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18 will unlock four Helldiver PlayStation avatars.
