According to our detailed review of the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, the mid-range tablet promises very decent performance, especially in the multicore department. Compared to its predecessor, a massive 47% improvement can be witnessed in both single-core and multi-core synthetic benchmarks.
In simpler terms, the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is more than future-proof, and should be able to handle the vast majority of day-to-day and even some moderately intensive workloads thrown its way.
The 13-inch IPS display is equally impressive, boasting a resolution of 3504 x 2109. The panel refreshes at an impressive 144 Hz, which should be excellent for folks who are into gaming. We also found the display to boast a peak brightness of around 680 nits.
As far as colors are concerned, the IPS panel covers over 99% of the sRGB color gamut with impressive color accuracy right out of the box. While it's true that OLEDs will have the upper hand when it comes to contrast performance and response times, there is no denying that the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2's display is more than sufficient for most people, especially considering its price. The lack of PWM flickering is also worth noting.
Other notable details of the Lenovo tablet include:
- 13 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera with facial unlock
- WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6
- 4-speaker audio setup
- 10,200 mAh battery
- microSD support
That said, the tablet lasted only around 6% longer than its predecessor in our Wi-Fi web browsing test, which is acceptable but nothing worth writing home about. Moreover, while its sustained performance was decent, the tablet did get rather warm under load.
At its current price on Lenovo's official US store, there is no doubt that the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 tablet brings a lot of value to the table for folks who want a well-equipped mid-range tablet without having to sweat over its price tag. Interested customers are definitely advised to check out our comprehensive review of the tablet before making up their mind.
