Last year, it was reported Sonos was considering releasing a new pair of high-end headphones and slashing the price of the Sonos Ace headphones. While it isn't known if there are still plans for a new pair of headphones considering the recent changes going on in the company, the price cut for the Ace headphones has arrived, albeit for a limited time.
When the Sonos Ace headphones launched in May 2024, they cost $449/€499/£449, but now they can be purchased for $349 — 22% or $100 off the launch price. The headphones are available to buy at this new low price on Amazon. They are also available at this price on Best Buy and on Sonos's website. Amazon and Best Buy do not say how long the headphones will remain at this discounted price, but on the Sonos store, it says the discount is valid until February 23 or while supplies last.
The Sonos Ace, available in Black and White, is a premium pair of headphones with features such as Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, Active Noise Cancellation with a transparency mode, and Dolby Atmos. It also has support for Bluetooth Multipoint, wear detection, and a battery life that lasts up to 30 hours on a single charge.
While these are not unique for a pair of premium headphones, there are some features that make the Sonos Ace stand out from the competition. For example, each ear cup has a contrasting color that makes it easy to know which way to put the headphones on. Also, the ear pads feature magnets and are easy to replace — Sonos itself sells replaceable ear cushions for $49 a pair.
The Sonos Ace headphones can be used in wired mode via the aux port or USB-C port, and support multiple codecs including aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and Snapdragon Sound. And if you own a Sonos soundbar such as the Arc or Arc SL, it is easy to swap from TV audio to the Ace headphones with the push of a button.
