Previously, the upcoming Snapdragon 888-powered iQOO 7 allegedly blazed an unprecedented trail all the way to an untouchable new record on the AnTuTu benchmark, only to then fall just about on par with the Xiaomi Mi 11 on Geekbench almost immediately afterward. Now, it seems its putative rival, the OPPO Find X3, is following the exact same arc across its own rumors.
SlashLeaks now asserts that a device called the OPPO CPH2173 it has found on Geekbench 5 is the X3. This is probably due to its lahaina platform, a code-name firmly associated with the 888 at this stage. However, despite its reported AnTuTu-destroying 770,000+ score, the phone has scored no more than 1134 and 3660 in single- and multi-core scores respectively.
This is just slightly short of the Mi 11's performance in the same tests, not to mention that of the rumored iQOO 7. Then again, the CPH2173 does have just one set of results for Geekbench 5 to date. In addition, this model number does not match that of the "Find X3" linked to the new AnTuTu top score (PEEM00).
Then again, this may be explained through the new one corresponding to its international version, whereas PxxM00 numbers are typically reserved for the Chinese market. Furthermore, OPPO still has not graced the Find X3 series with an official launch date. With new confirmed and potential competition from iQOO and Xiaomi, not to mention Samsung and Realme, on the way, the OEM might want to clear this uncertainty up soon.
