There are a lot of gaming handhelds in the market, and a lot of them are quite expensive. While the Steam Deck is still the cheapest option for PC games, the discounted price tag for the Lenovo Legion Go adds a lot to the overall package, especially considering the better performance and detachable controllers.

The Lenovo Legion Go may be around two years old at this point but it is still one of the more powerful gaming handhelds currently available. It is on sale via Amazon and has dropped to one of its lowest prices since launch, and what's great about this deal is that even non-Prime members can avail the discount. At this price, it competes with the likes of the Steam Deck and is cheaper than the ROG Ally X.

Lenovo Legion Go specifications and features

Powered by the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC and rated for up to 30W TDP, the Legion Go sports a large 8.8-inch QHD (2560 x 1600) IPS display with 500 nits peak brightness, 144Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass protection. It is backed by 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of storage. There are two 2W speakers and dual USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 functionality. All this is supported by a 49.2 WHr battery that is capable of Super Rapid Charge for up to 65W of charging.

What sets the Legion Go apart from the competition is the detachable controllers, much like the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2. But, unlike the Switch 2’s mouse mode, the right controller for the Legion Go sits on a base and acts like a mouse for a more gun-like grip. The large display and removable controller functionality do contribute to a heavier and relatively less ergonomic form factor weighing 854 grams. But, you don’t need to be holding the handheld at all times since there is a Microsoft Surface like kickstand at the back.

While the discount is not part of the Prime Day deals, the Legion Go is still discounted close to its lowest price ever. It is currently listed for $500, which is a $200 discount from its typical MSRP. At this price, it is cheaper than the 512 GB Steam Deck OLED and the ROG Ally X, granted, the former has an OLED display and the latter has a much larger battery.
