Tesla update 2023.44.30 now rolling out with speed cameras added to navigation
Tesla is now rolling out its 2023 Holiday Update, with upgrades for the Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Model S. We have already mentioned the addition of the Apple Podcasts app to all models and the inclusion of 3D images in Tesla Vision Park Assist, which is reportedly not available to older versions with physical ultrasonic sensors (USS).
Other updates in the 2023.44.30 series include alternative routes offered in navigation mid-journey, and speed cameras, traffic lights and stop signs can now be indicated on the map with symbols. You can plan your trip in advance on the Tesla app, your EV can dial 911 if the airbags are triggered, and new edge shading in the blind spot camera image helps you to spot vehicles before you change lanes. Parents may be pleased to hear that passengers can play games on the rear touchscreen, which also now supports Bluetooth headphones. Plus, the new features include custom lock sounds, allowing you to replace the typical horn sound with effects like a bleating goat, applause or a quacking duck, the Castle Doombad game and various updates to Tesla Arcade.
There are also autosteer improvements, linked to the recent recall, such as Autopilot Suspension, which restricts your use of the feature for one week if the car detects improper usage, defined as five Forced Autopilot Disengagements. In addition to this, the cabin camera next to the rear view mirror can monitor your alertness, notifying you if the car believes you are not watching the road while in Autopilot mode. Tesla notes that the availability of each feature in the 2023 Holiday Update differs by region and model.
