Tesla finally released the new 2026 Model Y Juniper refresh in the US as a regular AWD trim without the FSD bundle of the Launch Series edition that was the only one available so far.
The new Model Y price, however, is higher than the price of the old Model Y for the same Long Range AWD version, making the Launch Series edition look like a relative bargain for those who wanted FSD with their Model Y facelift.
Before getting deprecated, the old Model Y AWD LR had a $50,000 price tag before the federal tax credit is taken into account, but Tesla subsequently dropped it to $48,000.
2026 Model Y AWD price
The new 2026 Model Y Long Range AWD Juniper refresh price, however, is a grand more, or Tesla priced it $12,000 below the Launch Series edition.
If a buyer tacks on all the bundled options like FSD and Acceleration Boost with the premium accessories that the Launch Series trim came with, the new Model Y AWD price would quickly shoot up to $65,000.
This makes the inaugural trim a real bargain for those who intended to buy Tesla's FSD feature with the hope they will get the unsupervised version after June, when Tesla starts testing it in Austin.
Thankfully, the new Model Y still qualifies for the federal $7,500 tax credit, so the price that Tesla advertises now is $41,490.
New Model Y Diamond Black color price
As if to soothe the pain from the higher Model Y Juniper refresh price in the US, Tesla has thrown in a brand new and exclusive color with it, dubbed Diamond Black.
It comes in the form of an extra $1,500 option, and Tesla describes it as a "deep jet black with variations of sparkle and refined flake appearance."
This would be a sight to behold, and the new Model Y Diamond Black color is likely to sell out quickly, just as it happened with the white interior of the Launch Series edition that was out of stock for almost the complete duration of time that Tesla offered the inaugural Model Y trim in the US.
