Tecno Pova Curve 2 teased: Double the iPhone 17 Pro’s battery capacity in a thinner chassis

With a thickness of 0.29 inches and weight of 6.9 oz, the Tecno Pova Curve 2 is 16% thinner and 5% lighter than the Apple iPhone 17 Pro. However, Tecno advertises a battery with a little more than twice the iPhone 17 Pro’s capacity.
According to a teaser page, the Tecno Pova Curve 2 has an 8,000mAh battery that is supposed to last up to two days. Tecno has also shown the design of the new mid-range smartphone. With a display that curves along the left and right edges, Tecno is going against the current flat panel trend. The power button is finished in a bright orange. On the back, a transparent triangle provides a view of the SIM card slot and a barcode.
A previous leak already revealed the full design and many hardware details of the Tecno Pova Curve 2 back in December. According to the report, the 8,000mAh battery can be charged over USB-C at up to 45 watts. The 6.78-inch display utilizes an AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. The smartphone is further expected to feature the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 7100, paired with 8GB to 12GB RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage.
Rumors also claim Tecno that Tecno opted for a 13MP selfie camera, 50MP main camera and an essentially pointless 2MP sensor. The fingerprint sensor could be integrated into the display, while the chassis is reportedly IP64-rated, meaning it is protected against splashes but not fully waterproof. The Tecno Pova Curve 2 should be officially unveiled in India later this week.
