Surgent Studios, the developers behind the upcoming psychological horror game, Dead Take, have revealed a cast of star-studded actors alongside a release date. The game is slated for release on July 31 for PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam. The title centers around the depths of deception and ambition in the setting of a Hollywood Hills mansion.
Dead Take features a roster of impressive cast members, including memorable actors such as Jane Perry, who’s known for her roles in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Baldur’s Gate 3. Also joining the cast is Alana Pearce, who played Lana in a sidequest in Cyberpunk 2077 and V/H/S Beyond.
Beyond these actors, we’ll also get to see some cameo appearances from industry veterans like Laura Bailey from the Last of Us: Part II and Spider-Man 2, and Matthew Mercer from Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
To top it all off, Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director, Sam Lake, from Alan Wake II and Max Payne, will cameo in Dead Take. Moreover, YouTuber and Voice Actor, Connor Marc Colquhoun, known as CDawgVA, will also join the cast of Dead Take.
The game’s story revolves around Chase Lowry, played by Neil Newborn, who dives into a rabbit hole in search of his missing friend, Vinnie Monroe, portrayed by Ben Starr. Vinnie disappears in the aftermath of a Hollywood party.
Surgent Studios' Creative Director Abubakar Salim stated the necessity of actors who’ve experienced the glamour of acting. In a statement, he said,
“Dead Take is about actors. So we need actors who’ve lived it. It’s a game about the high ambition and the rot underneath it. The lies we tell ourselves to get in the spotlight and the monsters we become to stay there. Everyone in this cast has felt that pressure. This was a chance to bleed it out.”
