The Strong EVO 5F Lite is an e-bike with everyday features, featuring a hub gear and a particularly high permissible total weight. A Bosch Performance Line CX drive system promises powerful assistance when needed.
Pegasus has another e-bike in its range. The Strong EVO 5F Lite is a little more robust, with maximum permissible total weight of 180 kilograms. The weight of the bike itself is stated as just under 30 kilograms, resulting in a payload of 150 kilograms for the rider, luggage and other accessories. The built-in luggage rack is compatible with the MonkeyLoad system and can also securely accommodate panniers. As is typical for a trekking e-bike, the equipment includes mudguards, a bike stand and lights on both the front and rear.
The Strong EVO 5F Lite is equipped with a third-generation Performance Line CX motor, which, thanks to an update, can reach a torque of up to 100 Nm and a peak power of 750 watts. The e-bike is listed with both a 600 Wh and an 800 Wh battery capacity, both of which are integrated into the frame but are removable. The installed Bosch Intuvia 100 display is not particularly large and does not support color, but is still said to be able to display all the necessary information. The suspension fork is from SR Suntour and provides 100 millimeters of travel.
Schwalbe Energizer Plus Performance tires are fitted and hydraulic Tektro HD-T390 disc brakes are used, which operate on 180 millimeter rotors at the front and rear. A hub gear system with five gears is on board; a coaster brake is not integrated. Power is transmitted via a chain rather than a belt drive, and a chain guard is included to prevent dirt build-up.
The Strong EVO 5F Lite is available directly €4,299, but only in certain European countries. Customers can purchase the e-bike with an 800 Wh battery for this price. The 600 Wh battery is available for €300 less.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
