Stream Ultra X: EcoFlow’s new balcony power system debuts with compact design and 3.84 kWh capacity

EcoFlow has expanded its Stream series with the launch of the new Stream Ultra X balcony power system in Germany. EcoFlow’s new power system builds on the success of the recently announced Stream Ultra (curr. available at €799 on Amazon) and brings noticeable upgrades over its predecessor in terms of storage capacity and design. 

To be specific, the Stream Ultra X now boasts a 3.84 kWh storage capacity, a step up from the 1.92 kWh of the Stream Ultra. The LFP battery is expected to retain 70% capacity after ten years, lasting around 6,000 charge cycles. Like the Stream Ultra, the Ultra X is also scalable from 3.84 kWh to up to 23 kWh. In contrast, the Stream Ultra supports solar storage expansion from 1.92 kWh to up to 11.52 kWh, almost half of the Ultra X. 

Dimensionally, the Ultra X balcony power station is slightly larger than its predecessor, although it does deliver twice the capacity. It measures 420 x 294 x 460 mm (16.5 x 11.5 x 18.1 inches) and weighs 38.8 kg (85.5 lbs). For reference, the predecessor comes in at 284 x 255 x 458 mm (11.1 x 10 x 18 inches) and 23.1 kg (50.9 lbs). Furthermore, the power system offers four MPPTs with a total output of 2,000 W alongside a 1,200 W AC backup. 

There’s a built-in self-heating function that allows the solar battery to function in temperatures as low as -20 °C (~4 °F). The balcony power plant has an IP65 water and dust resistance rating, making it ideal for outdoor use. Additionally, the product has a low noise output of 30 dB. Other highlights of the Ultra X include an EcoFlow AI Assistant, EcoFlow app support for real-time power monitoring and tweaking power settings, a simple plug-and-play design, compatibility with existing EcoFlow devices, and a smart battery management system (BMS).
