SpaceX has now dropped the Starlink Mini dish price to its lowest ever, making it irresistible to those occasional users who want to have satellite Internet on the go and own the hardware for it, too.
The Starlink Mini dish price is now cut by 20% from its previous $249 tag, which in turn is a far cry from the $599 launch price back in June 2024. For comparison, the Starlink Standard Kit goes for $349 over at Amazon, which in turn is a big drop from its longstanding $499 price.
Starlink Mini dish price
- $199
The $199 price tag is the cheapest that SpaceX has ever sold the Mini dish for and Starlink is urging subscribers to take advantage of the offer. Starlink recently doubled the data allotment of its cheapest satellite Internet plan, too, making 100 GB a month available at full speed, then giving unlimited low-speed data after the data cap is reached.
SpaceX is also giving away a free Starlink Mini dish to Residential plan subscribers in certain underserved areas in the US as long as they remain in good standing on their monthly bill. It hopes to recuperate the cost by the occasional Roam plan activation when Standard Kit users travel in the boondocks and need satellite Internet connectivity.
The Standard Kit is also given away in the form of a free rental in many areas in the US, but it has to be returned if the subscriber ends their satellite Internet service agreement, while at its new $199 price the Starlink Mini dish is the user's to keep.
They still need to pay $20 for shipping the Mini dish, unless it's picked directly from a retailer, though. SpaceX has recently been opening dedicated Starlink retail stores and even self-service dish vending machines to make access to its satellite Internet hardware easier in underserved regions.
