A lot has changed in Arc Raiders since its release in October 2025. Players have shared epic moments, created watchlists for particularly toxic individuals, and even modded the game into a first-person experience. Over time, many have gained enough experience that the standard robot enemies no longer pose much of a threat – prompting the developers to step in.
According to Virgil Watkins, Design Lead at Embark Studios, the PvE experience in Arc Raiders is set to escalate. In an interview with GamesRadar, he explained that the team plans to introduce new types of regular Arcs featuring fresh weapons and attack patterns, while also hinting at much larger enemies. Watkins pointed to details sharp-eyed players may have already noticed – massive, mountain-sized Arcs looming in the background of certain environments. In addition, several new maps have been announced for 2026.
For now, these colossal Arcs serve only as visual teasers, but Embark clearly hopes to bring them into the game. As Watkins explains, the challenge is that enemies of this scale would currently “blow up the server.” While there is no confirmation that these giants will appear anytime soon, the door remains open. If the technical hurdles can be overcome, their arrival could significantly reshape the endgame experience.
The current endgame loop in Arc Raiders revolves around farming bosses to craft gear effective against those same bosses – a cycle that risks becoming repetitive over time. Introducing giant enemies could add a fresh layer to the endgame, giving boss farming a clearer sense of purpose. Reactions on Reddit have been largely positive, with many players welcoming the potential shake-up.
