The Sound Blaster name may sound familiar to readers who have been involved with computers for a while, as it was associated with pretty iconic sound cards back in the day. New products under this brand name are still hitting the market, as illustrated by the new Sound Blaster Re:Imagine. This is a modular audio hub with AI features that’s currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter.
According to the company, the team consists of industry veterans who worked on the original Sound Blaster brand, and this Kickstarter campaign is backed by Creative Technology. Supporters can get the Horizontal Cluster for $329, but as with all crowdfunding projects, there are considerable financial risks involved. Additional import and shipping fees might also apply.
Different modules make the Sound Blaster easier to use
The Sound Blaster Re:Imagine is a modular audio hub with a base station and individual modules. These modules can be easily inserted and don’t need additional cables. They have various functions and work as buttons, sliders for quick and convenient mixing or dials for precise adjustments.
USB hub and AI apps
The device is equipped with a DAC that’s capable of handling 32-bit audio at 384kHz. It includes headphone and microphone jacks, an optical audio output and also functions as a USB hub with USB Type-C ports. WiFi and Bluetooth are supported as well. It’s powered by an SoC with an NPU with 6 TOPS, and the company advertises the availability of AI apps that can be displayed on the 3-inch screen.
