Sony's best ANC headphones at their lowest price again

The Sony WH-1000XM6 noise-cancelling headphones have dropped to their historical low price once again on Amazon following a $61.99 discount off the MSRP of $459.99.

The WH-1000XM6 are widely considered among the best noise cancelling headphones available by many reviewers, and Rtings says "The Sony WH-1000XM6 are the best noise cancelling headphones we've tested."

The Sony headphones support Hi-Res Audio music playback using the LDAC codec over Bluetooth connections, with support for 24-bit, 96 kHz transmissions. Additionally, compressed music is upscaled by DSEE Extreme AI technology to restore lost high-range sound, according to Sony.

Nonetheless, the WH-1000XM6 are not wired headphones, so they cannot reproduce the full range of frequencies in an uncompressed DSD512 or PCM music file. Thus, unlike their superb 9.8 rating on noise isolation, the Sony headphones only score a 7.8 for audio reproduction accuracy in the Rtings review.
