MediaMarkt has revealed specifications and European pricing for the WH-CH520, one of two over-ear headphones that Sony will release soon. While details about the WH-CH520 leaked last week, some were incorrect or missing certain elements. Still, the overall design appears correct, with a relatively lightweight build and a more premium look than the WH-CH510.
For example, Sony has added padding beneath the headband this time around, as well as thicker earcups. In other words, the WH-CH520 should be more comfortable than its predecessor. Additionally, Sony will sell the headphones in beige, blue, grey and white; last week's leak implied that there would only be three colourways. Moreover, MediaMarkt outlines that the WH-CH520 will support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, Bluetooth Multipoint, DSEE upscaling and Bass Boost through the Sony Headphones app.
Furthermore, the WH-CH520 will deliver up to 50 hours of battery life between charges, not 30 hours as 91mobiles claimed. Thus, the WH-CH520 should offer 42.8% more battery life than its predecessor while adding 15 g of weight. A release date remains unknown at this stage, but MediaMarkt has outlined €69 launch pricing, including VAT.
