Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme X2E-96-100 CPU and GPU performance impress in Geekbench debut alongside Asus laptop

Even though Asus , HP, and others showed off numerous Snapdragon X2 Elite-powered laptops at CES 2026, they are yet to hit shelves, at least in global markets. Qualcomm made some lofty claims about the Snapdragon X2 Elite’s CPU and GPU performance, but the lack of production-ready devices made them a tad difficult to verify. Now, we get to see the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme X2E-96-100 on Geekbench.
It scores 4,033 and 23,198 points in Geekbench 6.5’s single and multi-core tests, respectively. These numbers align with Qualcomm’s earlier first-party data, where it effectively outperformed Apple’s M4 Max in single-core performance (3,880) but lost out in multi-core performance (25,760). It also leaves AMD’s Strix Halo flagship chip (2,947/18,481) and the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 in the dust. As anticipated, Intel’s flagship Core Ultra X9 388H (3,066/17,809) Panther Lake also falls short.
A second listing gives us a glimpse at the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme X2E-96-100’s GPU performance. The Adreno X2-90 GPU scores 44,786 points in Geekbench’s OpenCL benchmark. Geekbench says it has 16 CUs, but the score can’t be trusted because its reported clock speed is just 1 MHz. Nevertheless, it still manages to offer nearly double the performance of the last-gen Adreno X1-85 GPU, which scores a mere 23,854 points in the same benchmark.
Qualcomm made lofty claims about the Snapdragon X2 Elite’s GPU performance, and it is far too early to jump to conclusions, especially without gaming benchmarks. Its CPU prowess, on the other hand, looks to be formidable, and Qualcomm has a real shot at establishing its presence in the Windows-on-Arm segment. It couldn’t come a moment sooner because Nvidia’s N1X chips are also slated to show up sometime in 2026.
