After releasing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 a while ago, it appears Qualcomm's next major release will be for the sub-premium Snapdragon 7 series. Reportedly, the company already has two of those in the works, with the first scheduled to debut relatively soon.
According to Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm is working on two Snapdragon 7 series chipsets: the SM7475 and the SM7550. As previously reported, the upcoming sub-premium SoCs will make the switch from Samsung's node as used on last year's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, to TSMC's 4nm process. Supposedly, the new chipset performs quite well, although it's unlikely it outperforms the MediaTek Dimensity 8200.
While the leaker doesn't specify what branding names both chipsets will launch with, it seems likely that the SM7475 will be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1, and the SM7550 the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2. For some perspective, the SM7450 was the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the SM8450 the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the SM8475 the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the SM8550 the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It's unknown when the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 will debut, but the potential Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 is expected to launch in March or April. Likely, both Redmi and Realme will release smartphones with the chipset after it debuts.
