The name Slimbook might already sound familiar to readers, and its manufacturer is now offering the so-called Executive in a new model variant. Specifically, this 14-inch laptop weighs just 2.65 lbs and is about 0.71 inches thick. It uses an LCD panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, a brightness of 500 nits and 120Hz refresh rate.
Slimbook further opted for an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, which is a high-performance processor that can be paired with up to 128GB DDR5 memory running at 5,600MHz. The RAM is not soldered and can be upgraded later on, the same applies to the mass storage, which is expandable thanks to two SSD slots with four PCIe 4.0 lanes each.
It’s also worth noting that the Slimbook Executive is available with a wide range of (international) layouts for its backlit keyboard. The touchpad measures 5.7 inches, and a webcam with IR sensors for biometric unlocking is on board as well. Monitors can be connected via HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-C. For hooking up external storage devices, USB 3.2 Gen 1 is available in both Type-A and Type-C. A UHS-I card reader is also included.
More importantly, the Slimbook Executive supports dual boot and can be with various Linux versions or Windows. Depending on the configuration, the laptop connects via WiFi 6E or WiFi 7, although WiFi 7 is apparently not supported under Linux for now. Either way, the 99Wh battery can be recharged to 40% in 30 minutes. The base model with 16GB RAM, a 500GB SSD and Ubuntu retails for roughly €1,300.
