Sega has filed a trademark for Arcade Paradise, with the application officially published as of September 19, 2025, after it was submitted on September 10. This development comes just on the heels of Tokyo Game Show 2025, slated later this week.
Sega has already teased four unannounced titles as a part of its TGS 2025 lineup, confirming entries from Atlus and Ryu Ga Gotoku. Industry watchers and fans are speculating that the trademark could either be a part of a compilation bundle of SEGA’s arcade catalog, featuring classic titles like Virtua Racing, which was recently ported to the Nintendo Switch by developer M2.
What’s strange is that a 2022 title called Arcade Paradise already exists, which is a laundry simulator turned into a minigame anthology. The game was published by Wired Productions and Nosebleed Interactive, complete with a physical edition of Arcade Paradise published by Soft Source.
Despite the strange name overlap, Sega has filed and registered the trademark for Arcade Paradise under the Japan Patent Office, which covers video game software, entertainment services, and downloadable content.
Sega might be aiming to revitalize its long-dormant arcade library in the form of Arcade Paradise as the company delisted numerous classic Sega titles from digital platforms like PlayStation Store, Steam, iOS, and Android, including legendary cult-classics like Jet Set Radio, Sonic CD, and Crazy Taxi. This left fans wondering whether Sega is going for a subscription service similar to Nintendo’s NSO Online - Classics subscription model.
Still, there’s no word from Sega, which leaves many to wonder what the project could actually be and whether the filed name could show up at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Still, fans speculate that Sega will bundle together 20 or more titles from its 80s and 90s heyday, as it did with M2’s ShotTriggers collection that featured Aleste or Power Strike (1988), GG Aleste (1991), GG Alesete II, and GG Aleste III.
M2 also handled the Sega Ages collection available for the Nintendo Switch, which consists of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, After Burner II, Columns II: The Voyage Through Time, Fantasy Zone, and G-LOC: Air Battle, Puyo Puyo 1 and 2, Shinobi, and Virtua Racing, among a few other titles.
Furthermore, a separate leak last week on RGG Studio’s official website briefly listed Yakuza Kiwami 3 among its projects, confirming a remake of the 2009 Yakuza 3. This is building hype for TGS 2025, as Yakuza Kiwami 3 could be one of the four unannounced titles making its way to Sega’s showcase.
