Samsung Z1 Tizen OS update with minor changes in India

The update brings the OS to version 2.3.0.1 and packs minor fixes and tweaks.

Although Samsung Z1 is not available in most developed markets, it seems to be doing fine in India. Fortunately for users of this Tizen OS-powered smartphone, Samsung seems to be keeping its firmware up to date, regularly ironing out bugs and tweaking performance. The latest Tizen update for this handset arrived earlier this week and is available both via the OTA service and as a direct download.

This Tizen OS update is only available for Samsung Z1 users in India and carries build number Z130HDDU0BOH1 IND. The update has less than 70 MB in size and only comes packing minor fixes and tweaks. The new Tizen version after the installation will be 2.3.0.1

Those who did not get the OTA notification or downloaded the firmware manually can check for the update by going to Settings>About>Software Update>Check for updates, as usual. Other markets where Samsung Z1 is available should also get the update soon.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
