Samsung Z1 (2016) could be in the works
Samsung has a tough year ahead, but it looks like everything might go the right way after all. Recently, the company's heads were surprised by the impressive amount of preorders placed for the Galaxy S7 devices. Earlier this year, Samsung also upgraded most of its existing entry-range handsets, as well as the high-end Galaxy A lineup. Now, it looks like the next in line is the low-end Tizen-powered Samsung Z1.
Unfortunately, the information about this year's Z1 is nothing more than an unofficial confirmation of its existence. According to SamMobile's inside sources, "a Z1 (2016) is currently in the works (with model number SM-Z150)." Their little piece of information ends with the fact that Samsung SM-Z150 "could come with an AMOLED display like the Samsung Z3 and other recent budget Samsung handsets."
The original Z1 Tizen phone launched in early 2015, after quite a few delays. It took the company nine more months to unleash its successor, namely the Samsung Z3. A Z5 handset was recently spotted heading to India, so what remains to be seen is which one comes out first. In the end, the Samsung SM-Z150 might launch as Samsung Z5, and the Z1 (2016) could remain nothing but a rumor. We will keep you posted, so stay tuned.
