Matt Multimedian. Multimedia performance with Core i5-460M & GeForce GT 330M, paired with office qualities like a matt display, low emissions and good input devices. The perfect 15.6 incher for the consumer bearing ambitions?

This was a powerful unit that performed well, if you could lose the shiny lid and reflective screen and add a Blu-ray drive then I think I would have found what for me would be a near perfect system. My only other gripe is why do cards stick out from the multi card slot where others get them to fit snugly in, this could cause problems if you go to put the unit in a case possibly even damaging or removing the card without you seeing.

The Samsung RF510 provides above-average performance in a stylish and resasonably-priced package. However, in this price range, the Dell XPS 15 provides similar performance with better audio, a more colorful screen, a backlit keyboard, and configuration options such as Blu-ray and a full HD display. If you don't need the muscle of discrete graphics, the Samsung SF510 is an equally stylish system with a 15-inch display, good performance, and long battery life for just $650. But if you're looking for a powerful 15-inch system with a strong keyboard and high-end looks, the Samsung RF510 is a compelling option.

We've been dead impressed by some of the laptops Samsung has spawned over the last few months, so our hopes were sky-high for the 15.6-inch Samsung RF510. The Samsung RF510 is a powerful, although not particularly portable, laptop that offers plenty of computer for your cash. Even though no particular feature blew us away, it's a great all-rounder.

The Samsung RF510-SO2UK is a well designed laptop that's great value for money and can cope with any business task. Samsung has also thrown in some good multimedia components and a great screen and keyboard. Shame about the sub-par audio set up and underperforming battery.

Closest in both specification and price to the HP Pavilion dv6-3130sa, the Samsung RF510-S02UK is a 15.6in laptop that offers many distinctive features which make it a rather different proposition.

The saying goes that you can have something, Good Fast and Cheap — so long as you are OK settling for two out of the three choices. Well, the Samsung RF510 15.6″ notebook goes against popular logic and delivers on all three of these criteria. It is rare to find a notebook that meets or exceeds our expectations in so many areas — and is available under $1,000 which is why we have awarded it a Notebooks.com Editor’s Choice award.

Adding yet another comprehensively featured, high-powered laptop to its impressive range, Samsung's RF510 is a fantastic home media centre. While the Acer's longer battery gave it the edge, this is still a stunning multimedia machine and a worthy runner-up.

During testing, the Samsung RF510-S01's battery life was quite poor at only an average of about 2:30, which is way less than comparable models. This is really the main issue with this computer, so make sure you consider it wisely before you decide to purchase this laptop. If you don't intend to use it away from a power source, it's a wonderfully powerful and stylish computer.

Samsung is marketing the RF-series as "high-end performance notebooks matched with a futuristic design". In essence, we won't refute its performance clause, judging from satisfactory results garnered on the PCMark and 3DMark benches. After all, the middle class laptop does come with an adequate quad-core solution and discrete graphics.

If the Samsung RF510-S01US had two things to put on an advertising banner, it would be its speedy processor and powerful Nvidia graphics chip. It can take on most tasks with a smug yawn, yet leave enough room in your budget for another gadget. Its looks and battery scores aren't worth writing home about, although neither of which will matter if the laptop is tethered to an outlet and stays in one location most of the time, as most desktop replacements do. If you're looking for a better looking laptop, with better battery options, the Dell XPS 15 and HP dv7-4283cl are better picks.

Samsung: Samsung Group is the largest South Korean conglomerate and was founded in 1938. Samsung Group employed 489,000 people in 2014 and is one of the world's largest companies in terms of revenue and market strength. The name Samsung means "Three Stars" in Korean and represents the three sons of the company's founder. The company was founded in 1938 as a grocery store. With its subsidiary Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969, Samsung took up the production of electrotechnical items, focusing on consumer electronics and household appliances at an early stage. Other branches in which the large corporation is active include mechanical engineering, automobiles (Hyundai), insurance, wholesale, real estate and leisure. Samsung manufactures a wide range of electronic products, including smartphones, televisions, home appliances and semiconductors. The company's Galaxy line of smartphones is one of the most popular in the world. Samsung is also a major player in the semiconductor industry, making memory chips and processors for many other electronics manufacturers.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M: The Nvidia GeForce GT 330M is the successor of the GT 230M and technically just a slightly higher clocked GT 240M (but it should still maintain the power envelope of the GT 230M as the naming suggests).
NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M: The GT 420M is an GF108 based middle class GPU with DirectX 11 support.
» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core i5:
460M: The Core i5-460M has only 3 MB L3 Cache (compared to the I7-620M) and clocks between 2.53-2.8 GHz (Turbo Mode). Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.
560M:
The Core i5-560M has only 3 MB L3 Cache (compared to the I7-620M) and clocks also between 2.67-3.2 GHz (Turbo Mode). Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.
480M: The Core i5-480M has only 3 MB L3 Cache (compared to the I7-620M) and clocks between 2.66-2.9 GHz (Turbo Mode). Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
720QM: The Core i7-720QM is the slowes Core i7 Quad Core in 2009 and clocks between 1.6 and 2.8 GHz (due to the Turbo Mode). Therefore, it combines the advantages of a slow quad core CPU with a fast single core one. Compared to the faster Core i7 mobile CPUs, the 720QM only features 6MB L3 Cache.

15.00:
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.5 kg:
3 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
77.96%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
