Samsung Pay continues to expand and has recently added three new markets across three continents to its portfolio, but even more are expected to join later this year. This mobile payment system launched back in August 2015 in South Korea, the United States following in September 2015.

According to Injong Rhee, CTO and EVP of Software and Services, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, "Consumers are seeking convenience, security and ease of use in a mobile payment solution, and these latest launches show how Samsung Pay is providing an even faster and easier experience to a broader base of global users."

The most recent places where Samsung Pay has become available are Spain, the first European market for Samsung's mobile payment system, Singapore - the first South East Asian market, and Australia, which is also the service's first market within the Oceania reason. The list of additional markets that will get Samsung Pay before 2017 includes Brazil, Canada, and the UK, as well as others.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
