Samsung is the frontrunner when it comes to foldable Android smartphones. The company launched its fourth iteration of foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and the Galaxy Z Flip4, in August of this year with noteworthy hardware improvements for the base prices of US$1,799 and US$999 respectively. While par for the course when it comes to folding phones, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 aren’t cheap at full retail. Thankfully, we are in the season of deals. The Galaxy Z Flip4 is currently up to US$300 off on Amazon.
The 128 GB variant of the Galaxy Z Flip4 which normally retails for US$999 is US$200 off and can be had for US$799 on Amazon. The 256 GB SKU, on the other hand, is an additional US$100 off for a significant price cut of US$300 and you can buy it now for US$759 (US$1,059 MSRP).
On the hardware front, the Galaxy Z Flip4 has almost the same outward design as the Galaxy Z Flip3. The main improvements lie under the hood where the device employs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory, and 128/256/512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Less-than-ideal camera performance and bad battery life were the key criticisms of the Galaxy Z Flip3. Samsung made worthy gains in these departments by outfitting the Galaxy Z Flip4 with dual 12 MP rear cameras derived from the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s setup and a substantially bigger 3,700 mAh battery.
Based on the many spec bumps, we found out in our review of the Galaxy Z Flip4 that Samsung’s newest clamshell smartphone deserves to be on your shortlist if you are looking for a small foldable Android device.
